Nick Giddings, CEO
As one of the original members of the PowerPlace team (joining
in 2008), with over 22 years’ insurance experience, Nick has had a
strong influence on the Company’s development. His key
responsibilities include expanding the number of insurers and
products, supporting PowerPlace and ensuring it continues to
develop further. Nick was previously Head of Countrywide, where
PowerPlace began, and before this was Broker Division Head at
Screentrade.
Jon Mitchell, Technical Director
Jon joined PowerPlace in 2009, to manage the Open GI development
contract (worth £10m) and non OGI project delivery, and has over 16
years of insurance experience. He was previously a Senior Project
Manager at Towergate IT for five years where he sourced and
implemented two strategic underwriting platforms. Jon started his
career as a Claims Technician at Zurich Life before moving from
Australia to the UK in 1996 and progressing to Associate
Director of Change Management at Aon Re Worldwide.
Robert Appleton, Finance
Director
Robert is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant and joined
PowerPlace in April 2010 with full accounting responsibility for
the business. He started his career at Barclays bank in 1999,
before joining a facilities management company in 2000 as a
Commercial Accountant. Robert was promoted to Head of Business
Development and then moved to Towergate in 2003 where he quickly
became their youngest ever Regional Finance Director in 2008 at the
age of 30.
